Throf is a Saudi-built platform for sheep, goat and camel breeders across the Kingdom, from a small pen in Qassim to a large feedlot outside Riyadh. Record every animal by number and tag colour, track mating, pregnancy and vaccinations, and see your cost per head and net profit on your phone or in the browser.

Livestock keeping is part of daily life in Saudi Arabia. Local sheep breeds such as Naimi, Najdi and Harri, Ardi and Shami goats, and well-known camel types like Majaheem, Maghateer, Wadh and Shaal are found across the country. The sector mixes traditional herders who graze in the desert with closed commercial farms fed on barley, alfalfa and compound feed.
The hot desert climate means long summers and limited grazing, so most breeders rely on purchased feed, which is usually their biggest cost. Demand follows clear seasons, above all Eid al-Adha and Hajj, then Ramadan, while camels have their own market through beauty shows, festivals and camel milk.
Eid al-Adha and the Hajj season are the peak months for lamb and sheep sales, followed by Ramadan and weddings, while camel activity peaks around beauty shows, festivals and the cooler winter and spring months.

Before ThrofAfter ThrofA file per head, an alert before every date, and cost that adds itself up — without the sales talk.

Tag number, breed, sex, weight, dam and sire, photos, pedigree and cost — 13 sections in one file you open in a second. Bulk import from Excel and tag reading with an RFID reader.

Your total herd sits at the top of the screen, with the classification ready underneath: newborns, farm-born, added directly, unweaned, young rams and ewe lambs, bucks and doelings, rams and ewes. Throf classifies every head by age and sex and keeps the counts up to date — whether you keep 50 head or more than 10,000.

How many females are pregnant today, and how many are overdue? Throf follows every female, computes insemination success and twinning rates, and reminds you of pregnancy checks and due dates.

Monthly and weekly vaccination calendar with alerts before the date, a medical warehouse with expiry dates, and meat and milk withdrawal periods recorded per head after every treatment.

Total expenses, total sales and recorded net profit in riyals. The “Financial performance” chart compares your sales with your expenses month by month across the year, and flags your highest-spending and highest-selling months.

Profit in Saudi Arabia depends on feed and labour costs, birth and loss rates and the sale price. You only see the real margin once you know the cost of each animal — Throf calculates it from your actual expenses and sales, so you know whether the project pays before you sell.
Start with a herd that fits your space and feed, and record every animal from day one: tag, breed, weight, vaccination and mating dates, and every expense. Throf's free plan covers up to 25 animals and grows with your herd.
Add the purchase price, feed, treatment, labour and any other cost per animal, then compare it with the weight gain and expected sale price. Throf adds these up automatically per animal and shows cost per head and net profit.
